Barcelona Supercomputing Center (Spain) is the host of the 7th International Industrial Supercomputing Workshop in 2016, after the successful events at KISTI (South Korea), HLRS (Germany), NCSA (USA), SURFsara (Netherlands), TUS (Japan) and OSC & ORNL (USA).
The International Industrial Supercomputing Workshop is an annual gathering of industrial partnership programs from leading HPC centers around the world. These centers, which have traditionally been the domain of government and academic users, have in recent years created programs and projects to help provide HPC systems and expertise to industry. A number of prominent studies indicate that supercomputing is critical to the competiveness of industry. Benefits include reduced product development time, creation of higher quality products, and faster time to market. Via these series of workshops, leading HPC centers can share policies, strategic plans, success stories, and technical issues related to industrial supercomputing, broaden knowledge, and have an opportunity to expand industrial supercomputing service activities.
These annual workshops provide invited attendees the opportunity to meet, share best practices, and network in order to improve collaboration.
HPC for Energy project is one of the sponsors of the event, which will take place in Barcelona, Spain on September 22-23, 2016.
