HPC4E presents a novel modelling framework based on high-fidelity numerical simulations to evaluate and quantify the effect of heat losses in combustion systems

The Global Power and Propulsion Society (GPPS) is a new volunteer-led international community and forum for rotating machinery professionals in industry and academia. The Global Power and Propulsion Society's Inaugural Forum was hold on January 16-18, 2017 in Zurich (Switzerland) to exchange new research results as well as explore the impact of new disruptive technologies on applications related to power and propulsion.

HPC4E took an active role in the event by giving the presentation "Towards The Modelling Of Turbulent Flames Subjected To Strong Heat Losses For GT Applications" during the the Combustion session. The talk, presented by HPC4E researcher Daniel Mira (BSC) was focused on a novel modelling framework based on high-fidelity numerical simulations to evaluate and quantify the effect of heat losses in combustion systems.
